THE WEATHER FORECAST DOWN

To know our Naija weather is to understand that it is as uncertain as it is unreliable. The day could start out bright and sunny, by noon it rains a bit but does little to affect temperature, and by evening it’s pretty much back to what it was in the morning. Something totally different could happen where it is rainy and cold in the morning and by noon and basically the rest of the day it is sunny and hot.

Now my issue with this is picking the right clothes, something that I will be comfortable in no matter what happens. So I started out making sure I had alternatives.

I’d wear really light shirts with a jacket or a sweater draped over my arm, so whatever happens I was dressed prepared.

weather

But that too got exhausting after I had lost two jackets. It got annoying from then on out, I would leave for school in clothes with really light material because it was hot in the morning and be left shivering in the evening when I returned, I caught a cold on some occasions.

I remember this one time when it was so hot and I was out with friends. I had on this gown with a plunging neckline and short flutter sleeves, I felt the need to do something so someone doesn’t end up at Yaba-left.

So I took my scissors (it is in itself  weird that I had a pair of scissors in my bag while out with friends, trust me I was shocked too but for some “thank heavens!!!” reason I’m glad I did) , made a cut by the side (well hello!!! Slit)  then I folded the sleeves so they’d cease to exist and VOILA!!!

I was a comfortable, airy, sexy woman in a new dress with a slit and perfect sweetheart neckline, the main purpose however ,being that air gets into as many places as possible (Don’t judge me, it was either that or go crazy).

Now although most of us will not be so keen as to taking risks as wild as mine especially with our precious clothing, I would much rather you took out time out to tell me in the comment section how you deal with weather changes and also how you handle situations like the one I found myself.

Until next time…

Its even worse when you are dressed for an occasion like a wedding ceremony. That one you don’t have choice as in most cases, there are dress codes/ uniform (aseobi). If it rains, you will be drenched, if it is hot, you’ll sweat and probably stink. Someone has to think of a way out of this mess.

Anyways, that’s why we have people with fashion sense like you. Figure out a solution. I will be checking up on you for a solution.

Well done and keep up the good work…

Whenever i go out I like to dress in clothes that are not so light and also not as thick as sweaters, especially when I know I’ll be out the whole day, knowing the kind of person I am, I can handle cold better than I can handle being hot so if I ever have to choose I’d just wear something that lets air into my body .
