2022 FIFA WORLD CUP: ARGENTINA AND FRANCE TO PLAY IN THE WORLD CUP FINAL
On Tuesday, 13 December, Argentina defeated Croatia 3-0 to book a place in the 2022 World Cup final. With a goal from Lionel Messi and two goals from Julian Alvarez, La albiceleste, as the Argentina national team is often called, got a spot in the final for the first time in eight years (two world cup tournaments).
France also secured a spot in the final after trashing the Atlas Lions in the semifinals on Wednesday, 14 December. This was achieved with goals from Theo Hernandez in the fifth minute and Kolo Muani in the 79th minute, who was subbed in for Osumane Dembele. With this goal, Kolo Muani made a name for himself in FIFA World Cup history as one of the players to score a goal within 44 seconds.
In other news, Croatia and Morocco will face for a third-place play-off match on Saturday, 17 December at 16:00 (GMT+1) at the Khalifa International Stadium.
The final match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup between Argentina and France will be played on Sunday, 18 December at 16:00 (GMT+1) at Lusail Stadium.
