In celebration of World Clean up day 2022, which took place on the 17th of September 2022, Transformation Home Africa in collaboration with
~Nigerian Conservation Foundation
~Deeproot International Academy
~Young Africa Leaders Initiative Cross River State
~Awa initiative
~Global Eco Mentors Initiative
~Advocacy for women Disabilities Initiative and
other organizations.

And other volunteers came together to make this remarkable global event in the city of Calabar, Cross river state.
At 7 am these organizations commenced a cleanup activity from Cultural Centre through Etim Edem park and back to the cultural centre to ensure a clean and sustainable environment for healthy living. These were done in line with advocating for sustainable development goal 13, climate action. Medical Scientist, (Sct) Omojefe Kennedy Orezime, the founder of Transformation Home Africa spoke on their organization’s belief in Leadership through climate action, stating that a clean place is a healthy place and if we must fix our nation it must start with our environment in which everyone has a role to play.
These organizations enlightened the traders on the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment as well as methods to recycle and reduce waste generation. The Chairman of the park showed appreciation for the community service and pledge their commitment to encouraging the traders to develop a culture of keeping the environment clean.
At the end of the activity, a total of 21 bags of plastic waste were collected, the wastes were properly disposed and others were sent for recycling and upcycling.
A total of 49 persons were in attendance as we came to an end at 10:00 am WAT.
