The Power of Youth in Co-Creating Education: International Day of Education

Young people make up more than half of the world’s population. We reflect on this as we celebrate the International Day of Education at Ore Innovations Alternate University. They are a powerful engine for innovation, social transformation, and sustainable development. Yet, millions of youths continue to face barriers that limit their ability to shape the future they desire, poverty, inequality, limited access to quality education, and lack of decent work opportunities.

Because education directly shapes their lives and possibilities, young people must not just be beneficiaries of education—they must be active partners in reimagining it.

As technology continues to redefine how we live, work, and learn, involving youth in co-creating modern, relevant, and inclusive education systems is no longer optional; it is essential. Education must evolve to reflect their realities, aspirations, and the demands of a rapidly changing global economy.

At Ore Innovations Alternate University, our focus is on empowering young people with:

  • Soft skills for leadership, communication, and problem-solving
  • Tech skills that prepare them for the future of work
  • E-learning and self-education skills, supported by mentorship

We believe that location should never be a barrier to starting an educational journey or gaining globally relevant skills. With the right tools, guidance, and mindset, young people can harness technology to take ownership of their learning and build meaningful careers from anywhere.

Today, on this International Day of Education, we reaffirm our commitment to redefining education for African youth. Education that is practical, inclusive, future-focused, and driven by purpose.

Education is not just about classrooms.
It is about access, empowerment, and possibility.

Happy International Day of Education ✨
