THE GENESIS – DON’T MISS THE INTERVIEW JONNY…

“Wakey wakey sleepy head!!!”

The window curtains slide and the room was exposed to sun rays.

“Good morning Jonny!”

“Arrrgh, Mom! “

“Come on sweetheart! Its morning, you don’t want to be late for your interview…”

Triggered by the mention of the word “interview”, He jumped out of bed and headed for the bathroom.

“Slow down honey, you still have 1 hour to…” Before she could finish the statement, he was already out of sight.

“Breakfast is on the table”, she exhales…

“Thanks, mom”, he replied grumpily from the bathroom.

Few minutes late, he walked into the dining room and headed straight for the food on the table, while she sits and watches him.

“I am no longer a child mom,” John says, feeling awkward about the way his morning was staring at him.

“Uh-huh, you’re my child. Now eat, so you’d not be behind schedule”, His mother replied.

Jonny is an African-American, who resides in Georgia, United States. His father was a Nigerian from “Ennu-guu” in Jonny’s voice. And the woman who seems to be a pain in his ass, that’s his mom. She is from Guyana, pronounced “gai-a-ne”.

The couple met themselves in the ’90s in rural Georgia. He was a student at the University of Georgia and was on a scholarship he earned as a result of his performance in secondary school back in Nigeria.

While Azimoon, Jonny’s mother, was a student as well but she took up a part-time job as a storekeeper. That was where they met, fell in love, she took in and gave birth to Jonny.

They later got married after school and settled in the city of Georgia.

He worked as a manager at a mall, while Azimoon runs a small IT firm. She creates software for small shops that cannot afford more sophisticated and robust software to manage their inventory. She has quite a-number-of clients, enough to sustain her business anyways.

Jonny had just graduated from the university where he studied public relations.

Today, he interviews for a job role at the Nigeria Consulate General at 8060 Roswell Road, 30350 Atlanta Georgia.

He has a fair knowledge of programming as he sometimes works with his mom at her office.

“Could you please clear the dishes???” She asked.

“Come on, mom! I’m gonna run late…”, he replied. “That doesn’t stop you from clearing the dishes. Moreover, you still have 30mins”. His mom says looking at the wall clock.

“Arrrr, okay!” He responded as he heads to the kitchen with the dishes.

“She is always treating me like a child”, he murmured. “I heard that” was the statement that followed…

“I’m sorry”, he said, still murmuring…

Jonny had always loved riding his bike. He carried his bag and headed for the exit.

“Wish me luck!” he said as he walked close to the door.

“You won’t be needing it”, she said smiling. “You’ll do just fine”.

She walked behind him as he opened the door.

“Gracious Lord!!!” He exclaimed. “Mom! Where is my bike???”

“You won’t be needing it today. You will have to take a bus to help you relax before you get to the interview”, she explained.
