ARINTA: THE UNPOPULAR WATERFALL IN EKITI STATE.
Arinta waterfall is one of the many wonders of nature in Nigeria. It is located at Ipole-Iloro, Ekiti State which is about 6 km North-West of the Ikogosi warm springs. Arinta waterfall may be one of the unpopular waterfalls in Nigeria but it is a beauty to behold.
Arinta waterfall consists of seven different cascades. Everyone that goes to the waterfalls gets to the first layer. Going further depends on the visitor’s capability.
A unique thing about this waterfall is that the more the population of people inside the water, the more water rushes.
Another unique and fascinating feature of the waterfall is a stone called wonderful stone. It is said that no one has been able to lift the stone ever since the existence of the waterfall. There is also a belief that the water cures diseases, especially skin diseases.
The road that leads to Arinta waterfall is accessible but the challenge is that there was no hotel for lodging inside the compound that house the waterfall. For visitors that wish to stay overnight or for days, they can easily get a hotel to lodge in the village (Ipole-Iloro).
Another challenge a visitor can face is transportation. Though the road is good, no vehicle goes to the place except the vehicle is hired or owned.
The gate fee is affordable. There are sheds in the compound where tourists can relax and eat. There is also a tour guide available for tourists.
The best time to visit Arinta waterfall is every time. There is no time you can’t visit this waterfall. Feel free to visit this waterfall and see the wonder of nature.
