WORLD HEALTH DAY 2022.

Every April 7th is filled with an aura of encomiums to health, with different themes and health-related events to mark the day.

“Heal the world, heal the world, spread love and heal the world…” Patoranking choruses. Heal the planet – plant trees and heal the world. I would paraphrase. Hence, a self-inquiry about this year’s theme would be; what can my contribution be?

According to Wikipedia.org; “World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on 7 April, under the sponsorship of the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as other related organizations.”

“World Health Day is one of 11 official global health campaigns marked by WHO, along with World Tuberculosis Day, World Immunization Week, World Malaria Day, World No Tobacco Day, World AIDS Day, World Blood Donor Day, World Chagas Disease Day, World Patient Safety Day, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week and World Hepatitis Day.”

You and I share a planet in singleton hence, we must be conscious of that fact to indulge in activities that will boost her health as she’s the only womb that bears us all.

So plant a tree, culture your garden, properly recycle plastics, stop illegal logging, and keep your immediate environment clean; think of it, it doesn’t cost a thing. At variance, the effects/hazards caused by our actions to the planet would cause her depletion – bringing ripples of environmental catastrophe to us.

The WHO, since 1948 had celebrated numerous memorable events over the years.

However, this year’s World Health Day 2022 had the theme; “OUR PLANET, OUR HEALTH 7th April 2022

Yesterday, a Health Advocate & Environmentalist Orezime Kennedy Omojefe C.E.O Ore Innovations and Founder Transformation Home Africa. A Certified Life Coach, Medical Scientist (Sct), Business Strategist, Public Health Consultant, Social & Digital Entrepreneur – had taken to his usual way of marking the day with a responsible health-related & environmental event in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

He observed with others – A Tree Planting event tagged: “For Health and For Planet”, in commemoration of the World Health Day and the unveiling of the SDGs Peace Garden at the American Corner – Women Development Centre, Parliamentary Road Calabar – Cross River State NG.

Obviously, A planet focused society is a health-focused society. A planet caring society is a caring and healthy society. Anything void of sustainability is void of enjoyment. Therefore, to enjoy a healthy planet; courteous & conscious actions must need be geared towards such objectives.
