YALI Cross River State 2025 Inauguration Ceremony: A Grand Success

The Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) Network Cross River State held its highly anticipated 2025 Inauguration Ceremony on January 25th, ushering in a new set of dynamic executives. The event was a remarkable success, attracting dignitaries and influential leaders dedicated to youth development and community impact.

About YALI Network

The Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) is a prestigious leadership network spanning across Africa. Founded by Barack Obama and overseen by the U.S. Department of State, YALI has empowered thousands of young leaders through training, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

The YALI Cross River State Hub was established in 2018 by Ambassador Omojefe Kennedy Orezime and officially launched in 2019. Since its inception, the hub has trained over 5,000 youths in leadership, community development, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Each year, a new leadership committee is selected to steer the network toward greater impact.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by notable personalities in the Cross River State youth and development space, including:

  • Ambassador Tobi Michael Ola – an ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, delivered an insightful keynote address, inspiring young leaders to embrace global opportunities. Thank you, Sir, for honouring our invitation and sharing timeless lessons!
  • Ambassador Omojefe Kennedy Orezime – Pioneer Coordinator of YALI Network Hub Cross River. His unwavering support for youth development in the state continues to make a lasting impact. We appreciate your presence, mentorship, and leadership!
  • Ambassador Uket Friday: The 2024 Coordinator of YALI Network Hub Cross River, who successfully led the network and ensured a smooth transition. Thank you for your dedication and contributions!
  • Mr. Undie John Paul – The 2024 Electoral Committee Chairman, who conducted a free and fair election, ensuring a seamless transition of leadership. We are proud of your service!
  • Comr. Blessing Alims – The first female SUG President of the University of Calabar who delivered a goodwill message at the event. Your presence was truly inspiring!
  • Comr. Joseph Kelvin Enyam  SA on Student Affairs to the Governor of Cross River State, pleaged his support for the growth of the hub and youth development in Cross River State. He also encourage this executive to expand their activities to other senatorial districts across the State.

Introducing the New Leadership Team

The newly inaugurated YALI Cross River State leadership team will be led by Mr. John Collins Idim as the 2025 Coordinator. This team is set to continue the network’s mission of empowering young leaders and driving community transformation.
