NYSC Digital Literacy Corps Enlightens UNICAL Students on Tech Opportunities, Builds Strategic Alliance with Department Leadership in Calabar, Nigeria—May 30, 2025

In a compelling act of service and visionary outreach, the Digital Literacy 4 All Community Development Service (CDS) group under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) embarked on a sensitisation campaign to the Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) Department at the University of Calabar, UNICAL.
The mission was to ignite digital curiosity, empower students, and open up a world of opportunities within the digital landscape.
The initiative, led by passionate corps members serving in Calabar, was nothing short of inspirational.
In a unified show of purpose, the corps members visited the department in large numbers, demonstrating their commitment to youth development and the evolving digital frontier.
The department warmly welcomed the corps members, with the outreach marked by the gracious presence of the Head of Department, Dr. Ivon Ettah.

“I see hope in your eyes and strength in your purpose,” he said. “Stay focused, remain grounded, and keep looking up to God Almighty.
The interaction took an even more personal and heartwarming turn when Dr. Ivon shared that he would be celebrating his 50th birthday on June 26.
With a bright smile, he invited the corps members to join him in the celebration, expressing how much he enjoys their companionship and youthful energy.
