CHELSEA’S MIDFIELDER N’GOLO KANTE TO MISS WORLD CUP DUE TO INJURY

N’Golo Kante is set to miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup after suffering a hamstring injury in training that will keep him out for three to four months.

The Chelsea and France midfielder has been absent ever since he sustained an injury on August 14, in a Premier League draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Although he recently returned to Chelsea’s first-team training but it wasn’t for long as he suffered a fresh injury setback in training.

Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, described Kante’s latest injury as “a setback and not a good news.”

However, a replacement for N’Golo Kante has been signed by the football team. Denis Zakaria was signed on loan from Juventus in the summer. Ever since the 25-year-old was signed, he is yet to make his Chelsea debut and this has led to reports that the deal could be cut short in January.

Although it’s probably not the way he would have wanted his opportunity to come about, Zakaria could make his debut as a result of Kante’s absence.

N’Golo Kante has been an important first-team player for Chelsea since his move from Leicester City in 2016. He is equally important to the France National team, having made 53 appearances and his absence at Qatar will be felt.

We wish him a speedy recovery.
