In our society today, the systems have changed, where girls were limited and restricted from doing several things, such as schooling, choice of courses, restriction from speaking in public places, they were enslaved and were seen as incompetent as in most cultures it was seen that a girl’s life revolves around the kitchen, markets, and farms. Girls were tortured and abused, sexually, mentally, academically, and socially.
Thankfully for civilization, most of these rapid issues have been coped with.
INTERNATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY
International day of the girl child is an international day that was declared by the united nations to be on October 11, 2012, the first recognized day of the girl child.
This has shuffled more support and opportunities for girls and increased awareness of gender inequality which girls faced all around the world due to their gender. (Gender discrimination)
As mentioned above these inequalities included nutrition, restriction from education, legal rights, protection, medical attention, violence, and abuse also forced marriages.
The celebration of this day also reveals the successful emergence of girls and young women as an important development in campaigning, research, and programming.

The International Day of Girls initiative started as a project of a non-governmental body that operates worldwide, the idea for an internationally recognized day was birthed out of Plan International’s “Because I Am a Girl” campaign
It was formally proposed as a resolution by Canada in the United Nations General Assembly. And was sponsored by Rona Ambrose the Minister for the status of women in Canada. And was adopted on October 11, 2012.
