Celebrating International Women’s Day with Digital Queens

International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate the incredible achievements of women and to raise awareness about the ongoing fight for gender equality. This year’s theme is “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality,” which highlights the crucial role of technology in achieving gender equality and promoting women’s empowerment.

In today’s digital age, technology is constantly evolving, and it has opened up new opportunities for women to pursue their dreams and aspirations. However, there is still a significant gender gap in terms of access to technology and digital skills. This is why it is vital to empower girls and women with digital skills and bridge the gender gap in the tech industry.

That is why I am excited to announce the unveiling of our Digital Queen Project. This project aims to train over 300 girls with trending digital skills and mentorship. Our objective is to empower young girls with digital skills and create a pathway for them to pursue careers in the tech industry. We believe that through this project, we can bridge the gender gap in the tech industry and empower more women.

Training girls with digital skills is not only important for gender equality, but it is also vital for the economy. According to a report by the World Bank, increasing women’s access to technology and digital skills could boost global GDP by $12 trillion by 2025. This is a staggering number that highlights the potential of empowering women through technology.

However, we cannot do this alone. We need partners from various sectors to make this project a success. We are calling on businesses, NGOs, and government institutions to collaborate with us in this project. We believe that together we can empower young girls and women and create a world where gender equality is a reality.

The Digital Queen Project is just one example of how technology can be used to promote gender equality. From online education platforms to remote work opportunities, technology has the potential to break down barriers and empower women in ways that were not possible before.
