AFRICAN WOMEN GRADUATES FROM BINANCE’S FIRST BLOCKCHAIN BOOTCAMP.

In recognition of International Literacy Day, the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, Binance, has recently celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of the Blockchain for Women Bootcamp.

The theme for this year, ‘Transforming Literacy Learning Spaces’, aligns with Binance’s continued efforts to make crypto learning comprehensive for everyone through both online and offline platforms.

The Bootcamp which lasted for 8 weeks kicked off in March 2022 in collaboration with an ed-tech company, Utiva, whose goal is to help young people attain digital skills, and also equip women in Africa with blockchain education, tools and skills.

As part of the course outline, students were expected to understand the basics of blockchain, crypto trading and how blockchain is applied in real-world contexts. The hybrid-model lectures were completed with a demo day where participants built and showcased real-world projects based on what they learnt from the Bootcamp. The members of the winning team were awarded cash prizes and all successful participants received certificates.
